Biography: Technologist with wide-ranging experience in internet netorking, software, and hardware product management, I am considered an executive level business development and operations professional by ASPs, Tier 1 carriers, Fortune 100 CTO's and next-gen equipment manufacturers.
Previously, I have contributed in leadership roles for two Web milestones; Digital Island, the first internet Content Delivery Network (CDN) with worldwide service level guarantees, and, Dialpad Communications, originators of the first 1 billion minutes of VoIP worldwide.
My experience includes having traveled to five continents to negotiate the commercial development and contractual obligations of greater than $500 million of Internet-centric services, equipment, and infrastructure with more than 400 channel partners, agents, vendors, and service providers.

Vice President of Network Operations, Dialpad Communications, (Sold to Yahoo!), 2000 - 2002
Led the network operations team for the fastest growing web portal in the history of the internet (faster than Yahoo! and AOL combined) while managing a 15 million-person subscriber base represented from every country in the world.
- Negotiated, contracted and provisioned the network infrastructure that facilitated the world's first 1 billion voice minutes terminated using VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol)
- Managed an annual cost center greater than $50MUSD
- Assisted the CEO and CFO on $50M nationwide series C, Tier 1, VC road show
- Managed the network integration for the first computer telephony integration application internally embedded within a Microsoft Operating System code architecture (Windows XP SIP VoIP client)
- Managed a team of Sun systems engineers, Cisco/Lucent/Sonus/NT network engineers, Oracle data base admins, VoIP systems integrators, IT administrators and telecom billing analysts
- Complied with a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) subpoena for the Taliban communications that led to the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon
- Managed the first VoIP call termination services ever with Verizon and Arbinet
Founding Team Member and Director of Global Networks, Digital Island, 1996 - 1999
(Went public with IPO on NASDAQ; sold to Cable & Wireless UK)
Co-developed, negotiated and personally endorsed the first customer acquisition contract with Cisco Systems prior to receiving Angel financing
- Member of the seven person Founding Team and was the first company employee
- After IPO, Digital Island reached a capitalized value of greater than $8BUSD
- Managed the team that provisioned the first International ATM/IP multinational network for E-Commerce distribution with service level guarantees worldwide. Partial customer list included: Cisco Systems, Sun Microsystems, Microsoft, National Semiconductor, E-Trade, Stanford University, MasterCard, UBS Warburg, Financial Times, Canon, ABN Amro, Reuters, Charles Schwab and Sony
- Identified, contracted and managed the provisioning of data centers and collocation facilities in Silicon Valley, New York, London, Sao Paulo, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Munich, Seoul and Paris
- Served as the point of contact for internal finance projections related to fiscal planning of all telecom-centric network expenses and respective ROI pertaining to product development
- Managed an annual cost center greater than $35MUSD
- Digital Island was designated the first "Cisco Powered Network" worldwide
- Negotiated the first enterprise internet connectivity into the national backbone of China

Director of Business Development, SelectNet Telemanagement (sold to AT&T), 1993 - 1995
- Negotiated contracts with customers to manage product distribution, establish distribution networks and develop distribution strategies
- Responsible for strategic planning to train 2,500 Pacific Bell enterprise sales persons
- Provided the sales forecasts to ensure profitability of services, analyzing business developments and monitoring market trends
- Evaluated the financial aspects of service, budgets, expenditures, research and development appropriations, and return on investment and profit-loss projections
Started my first e-Commerce enterprise web venture in 1994 (sold to Universal Cycles)
- The Perfect Wheels e-commerce website was launched within 12 months of the creation and distribution of the Mosaic Web Browser
- Perfect Wheels became a featured case study by Smart Valley, an association of more than 75 Silicon Valley companies and organizations working in conjunction with community leaders to launch technology projects that enhance the quality of life in Silicon Valley
- Third year sales exceeded $1MUSD using a Macintosh, a fax machine, and United Parcel Service
Investment Bank Consulting
Extended market opportunity due diligence consulting to US Bancorp Piper Jaffrey during their Series B funding investment of $50MUSD in Telseon Communications (a national Metropolitan Area Network service provider subsequently acquired by Qwest).

I have been retained as a consultant (or Expert Witness) in over $7 billion of exposure related to telecom-centric complaints. In the cases (pun intended) that I have been retained by the defense, less than 5% of the aggregate claim values have been paid in settlement.
